o This version is a complete re-implementation of v1.x using artificial intelligence technology. This version is much better than v1.x at detecting people in photos and separating them from their background. (Unfortunately, it is also bigger and slower. Please read the installation notes.)
o Images and databases generated by v1.x cannot be used with this version.

Find People Images

o The progress reported during "Find people images" is slightly more detailed.

Crowd Maker
o Choose folders dialog: The OK button is now always visible.
o Choose folders dialog: Shift-click may be used to check/uncheck a range of folders
o Choose folders dialog: The Match field may be used to check/uncheck folders whose names contain the match text.
o Larger person images were slightly reduced.
o The number of duplicate images in a crowd was reduced.
o The image filenames in the latest crowd image are saved in "crowdPeople.log."

Fixes:
o The progress bar did not stay minimized when searching a list of folders.
o "Find people images" did not process files with the ".jpeg" extension.
o The crowd scene image was not centered in its window.

o IMPROVED: This version of Crowd3 contains improvements to the algorithms for finding the exact shape of heads.
o ADDED: When executing from the command line, you may append a list of folder pathnames for the program to analyze.  Crowd3 will terminate after analyzing them.
o FIXED: New people images found by a rescan of a folder were not available for crowd making until Crowd3 was stopped and restarted.
o FIXED: An additional fix was applied to the Standard/Daylight time change of version 1.0.

o FIXED: On Windows, after a Standard/Daylight time change, image files analyzed by Crowd3 before the time change appear to be modified and will be reanalyzed by Crowd3.  If you are upgrading from an alpha or beta version, WINDOWS or LINUX, see the Limitations and Warnings section in the Installation notes for a fix.

o FIXED: "Find People..." with CTRL option was inadvertently analyzing image files twice.

o IMPROVED: This version of Crowd3 is better at finding the exact shape of the people heads extracted from your photo collection.  (It works best when the head is in front of a contrasting background.) To take advantage of this improvement you must re-analyze your photo collection.  See next item.
o ADDED: You may force reanalysis of a folder by holding down the CTRL key when clicking the "Find people..." button.
o FIXED: The hyperlinks on the Documentation pane of the Help panel were incorrect.
o CHANGED: Switched from wxWindows debugging libraries to production libraries.
